To all our KIFFEL VOLUNTEERS ..THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
What a wonderful way to start a new year!!! We were blessed to see so many new faces along with our faithful Queenship of Mary parishioners and our loyal helpers from other parishes, especially our sister parish, Assumption BVM. We even had women come from Philly to help!

Our week started with unwrapping many pounds of butter & cream cheese, weighing flour and mixing the dough. Women and men worked together to prepare and measure the dough patties so we could begin rolling the dough, filling and creating the kiffels. While the tireless volunteers prepared the kiffels, we were grateful that many men assisted as runners: making sure that the rollers were supplied with dough patties and the trays were delivered and later collected when ready for baking. This teamwork ensured that the bowls of filling were never empty and the flour was abundant. We appreciate the men and women who mixed the nut filling, washed dishes, packed & marked boxes and sorted the orders. Our
sincerest thanks to our bakers, who kept close watch on the ovens guaranteeing the perfect results. Our gratitude to the volunteers who shopped ahead of time for the ingredients and to those that picked up the food to nourish our workers. Thanks also to the women who provided goodies for our coffee breaks. Thanks to those that contributed their time on
Saturday so the orders were distributed successfully, and to those who came back in to clean the ovens and the kitchen.  A special acknowledgement to the Kiss family and their helpers who set up and took down the tables. To Father Lamb, thank you for your prayers.  Thank you Mimi for all your help. Donna would have been proud of us!!!

We are planning to make kiffels again before Christmas, and we hope to see all of you back in the Fall!!!
